Ladies who sing leonard
Ladies Who Sing Leonard started as a small tribute attached to the Jewish International Film Festival’s screening of Leonard and Marianne, curated by Singer Songwriter Anita Lester.
After her cover of Cohen’s You Want it Darker (which was then played on AMC’s The Walking Dead), Anita was welcomed in by Leonard’s community and fanbase.
After the initial show, the demand for a reprise was overwhelming, so Anita engaged musician Gabriella Cohen to produce another show at Memo Music Hall.
In mid 2020, Anita paired with FOJAM (Festival of Jewish Arts and Music)and delivered a breathtaking all-star online concert hosted alongside Festival curator Lior Albeck Ripa and musician Lior Attar.
When the world began to open again, two shows were booked at Memo Music Hall once again, selling out immediately, with a refined and fleshed out cast and band.
The show has been a runaway success and has plans for future touring performances.
